CMA health care principles endorsed

The BMC and other patient organizations have endorsed a set of health care transformation principles as developed by the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) and the Canadian Nurses Assocation (CNA). This broad support for patient-centred care was highlighted to political leaders in a media release January 13, 2012 prior to the Council of the Federation meeting. The BMC will continue to work with the CMA to flesh out these principles, ensuring that they reflect patient perspectives.  Various patient group representatives, including several from the BMC, gathered at a CMA conference in Toronto on December 5, 2011 to review CMA principles and discuss issues related to the health accord.
